Moscato

Moscato

Flirty, floaty and fun, our moscato celebrates the good times to come. A light touch of pineapple and a taste of tropical supported by just a hint of alcohol at 8% make this a perfectly light day time wine. Perfectly capable of lifting ricotta pancakes to a new level, our moscato also has the structure to partner foie gras, caramelized onion tart, and even the complex spicing of good Thai food. And, for a cocktail with a difference, serve on ice with a sprig of mint. Our very own “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”.

Aranel

Aranel

Aranel, a regal name for a princess of a wine. Delicate white peach and orange blossom offset by five spices and cloves, aranel reflects the very best characteristics of Bordeaux’s grenache gris and saint pierre. Our Cinderella wine, her beginnings in Australia were hardly auspicious. Just one cane managed to survive of the four imported by the Vine Improvement Society of Australia in the late 90s. We coaxed, we caressed and we complimented and she responded with style and verve. Perfect with the elegance and simplicity of freshly shucked oysters and gravalax.

Chardonnay

Wilde Chardonnay

Like its namesake Oscar Wilde, our Chardonnay has plenty of character. It’s a rich Burgundian style wine with a taste of stone fruit, then a little citrus, with just a hint of apple. The layers of flavour finish with a biscuity note. The wine has great length with subtle yeasty barrel-ferment characters. Harvested from the famous Richmond Grove vineyard in the Upper Hunter Valley, the fruit are crushed and pressed, then the cloudy juice is transferred to French oak barriques. A luscious wine with Old World influences full of style and substance.

Tempranillo

Tempranillo

The wine signature of Spain ripens to absolute perfection in the cool climate of our Victorian Del Rios Vineyards. Tempranillo is the backbone of the wines of the Rioja and the Ribera del Duero. This is a wine with many faces, depending on the time of day, and her companions. A deep dark purple with rich ripe berry softness and low acid and tannin results in an easy drinking wine that is happy with a range of food. The perfect Autumnal red, she gleefully dances with tapas-style dishes from jamon to marinated mushrooms, and happily escorts grilled and roast lamb and sheep’s milk cheeses. Olé!

GSM

GSM

A finely-tuned balance of classic grenache ,spicy shiraz ,and gamey mourvedre ,our GSM is classy, unadorned or partnered with food. She’s fruit of the earth, and full of contrasts, with a gamey foundation, underpinning strawberries and raspberries, and a touch of pepper and spice. The Spanish claim Grenache, or Garnacha, as their own but you’ll also catch the reflection of her French connection where she headlines the major Southern Rhone appellations including the acclaimed Chateauneuf-du-Pape wines. She dances magically with chargrilled meat, a warming coq au vin or a gamey terrine.

Cabernet Merlot

Cabernet Merlot

This is an elegant wine which blends succulent cassis and plum flavours with chocolate, liquorice and fresh tobacco characters in a long, lingering blend with spearmint and spice to finish. The Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from our favourite vineyard in the Barossa Valley, famous for full-bodied, beautifully concentrated reds. These are blended with merlot grapes from the Langhorne Creek region before vinification in the Hunter Valley. The rich blend is left for 16 months to mature and enhance the complexities of two great wines. A great wine for everything from roast lamb to chocolate cake!
